Marie Singzon is a first generation immigrant and a native Tagalog speaker. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in European Languages from the University of the Philippines, Diliman, Quezon City. She became a Flight Attendant after university, got married and moved to Lombard, Illinois to join her husband in 2004.
Ate Marie works as a part-time childcare worker at the Madison Meadows Athletic Center near her home and is delighted with playing and interacting with children ages 3 months to 6 years old. Through the years, she enjoyed volunteering at her daughters’ schools as a teacher's helper and was a Girl Scout Troop Leader and Room Parent. She is also a Cross Country and Track and Field Assistant Coach. She loves involving the whole family in helping with church events and Holy Mass.
Through frequent conversation and repetition, her two teenage daughters can understand, read, and speak Tagalog. They take pride in knowing the language and their Filipino culture and traditions.
During her leisure time, Ate Marie and family enjoy card games like Pusoy Dos, Old Maid, Memory Game, and board games such as Risk, Apples to Apples, and Scattergories. They also like to play tennis and watch Marvel and Star Wars movies and TV shows.
